An Announcement – Starstruck

Hello Bookworms!

Today’s a special day for me. Because today… I’m talking about my own book. I mentioned a few months ago that it was official, that I was soon going to be published. And yes, it is happening! Starstruck is set to launch on May 4th, 2017, from ISF publishing. It’s finally going to be published!

What does this mean for this blog? Well, I won’t talk about my book that much. I won’t review it myself, because I think it wouldn’t be unbiased. However, I will say things along the lines of this post: tell you about the book, when it will come out, give you some plot details, and invite you to ask any and all questions.

Summarystarstruck

After an incident with a hot-air balloon causes college-dropout Sally Webber to lose her job, she sets off to find direction in her life. Crashing into a teleporting alien, however, is not on her to-do list.

Now she’s on the run from TV-drama-loving aliens, and things are just getting started. Zander won’t stop reeling her into life-or-death situations to save her planet, as he waits for his laser-wielding sister to search the universe for him. Though Sally isn’t quite sure if he wants to save Earth from annihilation, or just quell his curiosity of all things human.

Now she’s got to find lost alien emissaries, as well as a job, and stop the planet from getting incinerated in the process. But with Zander as her roommate, what could possibly go wrong?

So what is Starstruck? Starstruck is the first of what’s going to be a long series where a young twenty-something year old woman gets thrown into insane situations she’s really not equipped for… like saving the Earth from being incinerated, when she really needs to focus on getting a steady job instead. It’s action packed and silly. Think… Meg Cabot meets Doctor Who,  definitely Douglas Adams inspired.

As the series progresses, Sally gains confidence, and discovers such things as the Bootstrap paradox, parallel universes, time travel, the curse of immortality, and a decent interstellar pizza. The second novel, Alienation, should come out this fall, and the third swiftly after that.

I’ve just had so much fun writing these novels. I do hope they’re are fun to read as they were to write!

In an effort to keep the distance between my review blog and my book blog, I’ve created a few sites where you can follow the book’s progress. First and foremost there is my Facebook page, which is also connected to my author website, and finally my twitter handle, which is @sea_author. Feel free to follow if you’re interested!
